Travel fees are not specified by the law. Such fees are proper only if the notary and signer(s) agree beforehand on the amount to be charged. The signer must understand that a travel fee is neither required nor specified in the law and is separate from the notarial fees.
Texas law requires ‘state officers’ to bill clients for all expenses. National Notary Solutions, LLC. will prepare a detailed bill for any services we perform as a notary public. We will discuss our fees with our signer before performing the notarial act to prevent any confusion or conflict. Our agency will also provide all clients with a written receipt for any fees charged, completely separating any non-notary fees such as travel expenses (time and expense) from the actual notary fees charged.

Due and Payable Upon Receipt:
After the NNS representative and the client agree on a set fee based on services, ALL FEES ARE DUE AND PAYABLE PRIOR to services rendered. Fees are negotiable, but must be agreed upon contracting before any service. NNS clients will receive an itemized invoice and receipt. Escrow and loan cancellations have no bearing on the payment of fees. Payment arrangements must be made in advance of services at the time of scheduling all closings ( buyer/seller). National Notary Solutions accepts payments from Venmo, CashApp, Paypal, GooglePay, checks, and cash. All checks should be written to: National Notary Solutions, LLC. A $40.00 service fee be charged for all returned checks.

Beginning on 9/1/2023, fees will increase to $9.00 for the first signature. All fees are subject to change.
$9.00 for the first signature of each signer OR for administering oaths or affirmations, swearing in a witness for depositions, etc.

In addition to the standard notarial fees governed by the State of Texas, all clients will be charged service fees which are subject to change.

Public Notaries cannot prepare, edit, or give legal advice regarding your documents. Please direct questions related to the nature of your documents to the originator that gave you the document. Notaries or loan signing agents cannot act in the role of an attorney; therefore, we will not be able to offer any legal advice on the documents you are requesting to be notarized.
There are special circumstances in which a person that needs something to be notarized, such as an acknowledgment, that does not have to appear before a notary if the individual is signing as Attorney in Fact for the signer in an authorized capacity.
No documents will be notarized unless all parties are alert, coherent, and able to understand what will occur.
Although rare, there are times when we cannot notarize a document. We require that the document NOT be signed prior to our arrival or resigned if already signed. A personal appearance by the signor in front of the notary is always required. We also must decline to pre/post date document notarizations. Please understand the distinction between the document date and the notarization date. The document date is the effective date of the document and is of no concern to the notary. The notarization date is the actual date the signer appears before the notary and must be accurately reflected on the document. Please review the information below regarding the types of documents we most commonly Will and Will-Not notarize.

Loan signings are the most complex function of the function of a notary public. We must follow specific instructions exactly for each loan packages to be processed. All other notarial acts must be in line with Texas law. We cannot legally put our stamp on anything that the law does not approve of.
6. Law Abiding
If a notary public performs any of the following acts, the notary may be subject to possible criminal prosecution, civil liability, including liability under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and the revocation or suspension of the notary’s notary public commission. Sign a notarial certificate under any other name than the one under which the notary was commissioned;

Certify copies of documents recordable in the public records;

Record in the notary’s record book the identification number and/or state that was assigned by the governmental agency or by the United States to the signer, granter or maker and that is set forth on an identification card or passport; or any other number that could be used to identify the signor, grantor or maker of the document. (This does not prohibit a notary from recording a number related to the residence or alleged residence of the signer, granter or maker of the document or the instrument.);

Using the translation into a foreign language of a title or other word, including “notary” and “notary public” in reference to a person who is not an attorney in order to imply that the person is authorized to practice law in the United States.

The Secretary of State of Texas may issue an Apostille on documents issued by persons on file with this agency, including county clerks, and notaries public. We are in the working stage to assist notarizing documents that need to be verified from other countries.
